Partner

Mary Miller brings deep experience in philanthropic advising, stakeholder strategy, and high-impact fundraising. Since 2020, she has been consulting with philanthropists and nonprofits, drawing from 15+ years of frontline development and national relationship building. Her expertise lies in designing and launching donor-led initiatives, strengthening nonprofit boards, and executing scalable funding strategies.

Mary has worked closely with CEOs and philanthropists to bring ambitious ideas to life—from concept to established nonprofit. She has guided donors and coalitions in investments spanning public policy, education, poverty, and justice reform. Her national network of subject matter experts and changemakers continues to enrich her advisory work today.

Lauren B. Pemberton, CFRE

Partner

Lauren B. Pemberton is a nationally respected expert in philanthropy, charitable strategy, and politics. She brings two decades of experience across sectors, including service in The White House, U.S. Department of State, political campaigns, and national nonprofit organizations. As a philanthropic advisor, Lauren has supported donors, foundations, and nonprofits in deploying funds through 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4), 501(c)(6), and 527 structures, always with an eye toward measurable impact and legacy alignment.

Before founding Legatum, Lauren served within Charles Koch’s Stand Together philanthropic community, guiding philanthropists in crafting giving strategies and recommending the most impactful organizations. She has raised millions of dollars for mission-aligned initiatives and is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE). Lauren also oversees a family endowment at the University of Colorado Boulder, supporting aspiring journalists with scholarships.

Aubrey Weber is a strategic communications and global health professional with over 15 years of experience increasing visibility, engagement, and knowledge exchange across public health, nonprofit, and development sectors. Her expertise includes managing multi-channel communications, content and brand strategy, digital engagement, and stakeholder collaboration for major mission-driven initiatives.
